Aynsley House is situated on the lower slopes of Christchurch's Port Hills, with peaceful views overlooking St Martins parkland to the distant Southern Alps. If it's relaxation that you want then just sitting on our balcony in the sun with a drink and nibble nearby is hard to beat. Bordering the park, the Heathcote River, just over the road from Aynsley, offer beautiful easy woodland and park walks - for as short or as long a stretch as you need.

Aynsley House is a stone's throw to the famous Rugby/Cricket venue Jade Stadium. Being only 4km easy drive from the centre of Christchurch City, it offers easy access to the Botanical Gardens, Hagley Park, extensive shopping and the Pacific Ocean beaches of Sumner and Brighton, as well as a large and diverse range of restaurants catering for all needs. About eight golf courses and many great vineyards are within 10 to 20 minutes drive from Aynsley.

If you're looking for day or weekend tours, the thermal springs of Hanmer and many Ski resorts or mountain walks can be reached within an hour or two by car. Other popular tourist destinations close to Christchurch include Akaroa (historic French-founded fishing settlement), Kaikoura (whale-watching and seafood), Arthur's Pass (alpine views and walks) and Mount Hutt (an internationally acclaimed skifield).
